EARLY CAREER
DJ Pied Piper, born in the heart of London, began his journey into music at a young age, driven by a deep passion for rhythm and beats. As a teenager, he immersed himself in the hip-hop culture of the 80s and 90s, honing his skills as an mc & dj. His early influences included the raw energy of the underground music scene, which would later shape his distinctive soundβ¦
In the early 90s, DJ Pied Piper's talent caught the attention of the music community where he was part of the the hip-hop group HiJack together with unknown mc. Known for their intense and raw sound, HiJack quickly gained a following in the UK hip-hop scene. Their breakthrough came when the legendary West-Coast rapper Ice T signed them, propelling the group to new heights. HiJack's single "The Badman is Robbin'" and their album "The Horns of Jericho" enjoyed underground and mainstream success, cementing their place in UK hip-hop history. hijack embarked on three world tours with rapper ice t and his stable of artists from rhyme syndicate records. they also toured with acts such as De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Public Enemy, house of pain to name but a few.
As the 90s progressed, DJ Pied Piper's musical interests began to evolve. Embracing the emerging UK garage scene, he co-founded soulfood recordings with unknown mc where they made waves with their innovative sound, blending elements of hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music.
Their 1998 hit "Good Rhymes," which cleverly fused Chic's "Good Times," and sugar hill gang βrappers delightβ with UK garage. da click soon became a chart-topping success which earned an appearance on Top of the Pops, further solidifying DJ Pied Piper's influence in the UK music scene.

In the early 2000s, DJ Pied Piper and unknown mc formed a new collaborative project known as DJ Pied Piper and the Masters of Ceremonies. This ensemble included talents MC DT, Sharky P AND MELODY.
Together, they created one of the most iconic tracks in UK garage history, "Do You Really Like It?"
The song became a sensation, spending six weeks in the top ten and peaking at number one on the UK Singles Chart.
Selling 600,000 copies and earning platinum certification, "Do You Really Like It?" remains a defining anthem of the genre.
